Tirana — Thousands of Albanian citizens once again flooded the streets of the capital, Tirana, and other coastal cities, continuing their 42nd consecutive wave of protests against the construction of a luxury resort project affiliated with former United States President, Donald Trump. These demonstrations, occurring in the second week of July 2026, voice deep concerns over environmental impacts, investment transparency, and the potential dominance of foreign interests over national sovereignty.
The mass action, which has lasted for over a month, was triggered by public suspicion regarding the permitting process and the long-term ecological impact of the resort, planned to be built along the pristine Adriatic coastline. Demonstrators demand the Albanian government immediately review and cancel the project.
This controversial project involves an investment company with business ties to the Trump Organization, raising fears of political and economic influence that could harm local communities and coastal ecosystems.
“This is not just about a resort.
