BERLIN — Deutsche Bahn, Germany's national railway operator, has officially expanded its alcohol consumption ban across all train stations nationwide starting in 2026. This stringent policy is being implemented to enhance safety and comfort for employees and the millions of passengers who use public transport services daily.
This radical step follows an increase in incidents related to alcohol misuse within station environments, which frequently lead to disruptions and safety threats. Deutsche Bahn management asserts that tolerance for disruptive behavior will be completely halted.
"Genug ist genug. We are now taking even tougher action," stated Palla, Deutsche Bahn's Chief Executive, in a press release issued today. This declaration reflects the company's strong determination to create a transport environment free from alcohol-related disturbances.
